Junior Tennis Club Members

16 or under? Now there are even more reasons to come down to the tennis club, get involved and improve your tennis.

We have a number of initiatives for our junior members which provide you with opportunities to improve and enjoy your match play, including in-house competitions, tournaments and for those wishing to take their tennis further – LTA competitive tennis.

We offer an extensive coaching programme, holiday camps, junior club nights and performance squads. We have teams entered in local leagues as well as arrange friendly matches against other local clubs.

Please note: children under the age of 14 cannot use the facilities at the Club unsupervised.

Junior Club Tournaments

Our annual Junior Club Tournament takes place in September, in the morning prior to the final day of the Senior Annual Tournament.

Throughout the rest of the year our Head Coach, Sean Evans, will also be running various junior tournaments, both social and competitive, for our juniors. You will be informed of these in advance via newsletter or email.

Junior tennis at Pocklington Tennis ClubLTA Tournaments and British Tennis Ratings

We encourage all our juniors to become a British Tennis Member and get a British Tennis Number from the LTA by going to www.lta.org.uk. It’s free and once you have this number you are able to get ratings. A British Tennis Rating is a measuring tool that indicates a standard of play, as well as allowing you to record your progress and develop your game.

In addition to our own club tournaments which will help with your ratings, please contact us if your child is interested in participating in other local LTA tournaments.

Keep Up To Date & Keep In Touch

In order to keep you involved and updated on our progress with these and other initiatives, please ensure we have your current email address as communication will be done through email, the junior section of the newsletter and website. We really hope you will come along and support the junior club nights and club tournaments.

We truly believe that a tennis club is only as strong as its junior section and we’re keen to ensure we have the best club/juniors in the area.

If you’ve got any ideas on things you would like to see happen within Pocklington Tennis Club Juniors then let us know. You can email juniors@pocklingtontennis.com.

We look forward to seeing you on court soon.
